ArticlesFalse TeachingsJesus is not God

Is the Trinity biblical? Is Jesus God?

The Trinity is probably the most popular doctrine of Christianity. It has been widely preached within the churches around the world. They even came up with a complex “image” which is supposed to explain their theory of the Trinity. It shows how Jesus, the Spirit, and the Father are “one and the same instance”:

Trinity explained

But is this concept actually biblical? Or is it just another form of interpretation? Did Jesus really teach us anything about the Trinity? The best way to answer this question is to examine the Bible and especially Jesus’ own statements.

The Trinity was INVENTED by the Catholic Church and is therefore not biblical

It is known today that the Trinity was DEVELOPED by the Catholic Church between the years 325 and 675. You can even read it on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity

Therefore, it is no wonder that neither Jesus’ disciples, nor Paul, nor the rest of the early Christians knew anything about a Trinity, let alone ever mentioned it. In fact, the belief in a Trinitarian God is merely a pagan custom that was adopted to make Christianity more pleasant to pagans and to dissociate the Christian Church from Judaism.

The Trinitarian Baptismal Formula was subsequently inserted into the Bible by the Catholic Church

The only verse in the Bible that could indicate that a Trinity exists is this one:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19)

But the problem is that this Bible verse was actually added deliberately to the Bible by the Catholic Church. This Bible verse does not exist in the original Hebrew text of the Gospel of Matthew. This means that the Catholic Church has falsified the Bible to support its own interests. The Trinity is therefore not a biblical teaching but merely invented by the Church.

We should be baptized in the name of Jesus

In fact, the Bible always says that we should be baptized in the name of Jesus. And nothing else. Here’s one example:

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

However, there is much more evidence that we should only be baptized in Jesus name: Acts 8:16, 10:48, 19: 5, Romans 6: 3, Galatians 3:27.

Here you can find out more about it: What does the Bible say about Baptism?

Is the Trinity in the Bible? God, the Father, is also the Spirit

Let us start out with God Himself. The first great mistake of the Trinity is to separate God and the Spirit from each other. Because God is the Spirit! Jesus himself makes this statement. And the Old Testament says nothing else. Already the beginning of the Bible says that the Spirit of God moves over the waters:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)

If this passage didn’t already clarify that God is the Creator AND the Spirit, we should take a look at the 10 Commandments in the Bible. One of these commandments forbids us to make an image of God. To make an image of Him would be like the worship of another, false god. That God tells us that we shouldn’t make any image of Him, clearly shows us that there is no image of Him. He doesn’t resemble anything. Neither in heaven nor on earth. He is the invisible God.

I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:2-6)

But what does it mean if God doesn’t correspond to anything that exists in heaven or on earth? It simply means that God is Spirit. And spirit is invisible. God doesn’t have an appearance, which means that Jesus cannot be God. However, the Spirit of God can dwell in Jesus!

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:8-9)

Is the Trinity biblical? Jesus says: God is spirit!

If the biblical passages mentioned above weren’t clear enough, we should take a look at Jesus’ own statement. Check this Bible verse:

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:22-24)

This verse doesn’t only clarify that God is Spirit, it also explains that salvation comes from the Jews. Because the Jews know who they worship: the only true God. This statement of Jesus leaves no room for interpretation. He refers to the Old Testament and confirms it in a clear statement: God is spirit. Whosoever confesses to Jesus, must also believe his own words.

Who is Jesus?

Now that we have clarified that God is the Spirit, we can continue with Jesus. What does the Bible say? Is Jesus God or not? Everything Trinity teachers can provide to prove their theory are vain interpretations. The following Bible verses are often used to explain why Jesus is supposed to be God:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

But are these verses really saying that Jesus is God? They say that God created everything through the word and nothing was created without the word. In the word was the life and the light for the people. The word itself is also God.

If God is the word and everything that exists is created by the word, it means that God exists in everything that lives. For in Him is life. The New Testament also confirms that God will be all in all. Read it yourself:

For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:27-28)

This verse doesn’t only state that God becomes all in all, but also that Jesus submits Himself to God. That’s why, he possibly can’t be God. Because he can’t submit himself to himself. But let’s move on.

The word became flesh

What does John mean by saying that the Word became flesh and Jesus is the only begotten Son of God? The following Bible verses explain it very precisely:

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. (John 8:23-29)

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:6-7)

Jesus explains that he was born of the Spirit of God and therefore belongs to the kingdom of God. He is not born of flesh, but of spirit (God)! That’s why he is also the only begotten son. He said himself that he does exactly what his Father tells him to do. When he speaks of the Father, he refers to the Spirit of God which dwells in him. This is what he means when he says that the Father lives in him.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (John 14:10)

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. (John 10:37-38)

Jesus is the Son of God

Jesus didn’t come to reveal himself as God, but to deliver the Spirit of God to us. He says that he is the source of eternal life and that no one comes to the Father except through him. He is the heir of the kingdom of God. He is the firstborn and the other children will follow. If somebody believes in Jesus he can become a child of God. Jesus wants us to be born in the same way as he was. But if we become like Him, will we be God then? Certainly not. We become children of God, but we won’t ever be God. We will be children of God, just as Jesus is the Son of God. And that means that we won’t belong to this world anymore. Read these Bible verses:

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. (John 6:51-58)

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:13-14)

The Trinity is not biblical, because everyone can become a child of God

Jesus wants us to become one with the Father, just as he is one with Him. He also calls himself the Son of Man. Have you kept in mind what is written in John 1:1? God himself is life. Jesus wants us to drink from the well, so that we may live forever. The source of which Jesus speaks is God. Because God speaks the Word and in Him is eternal life. Jesus is born of the spirit of God, just as we should be born of Him. That doesn’t mean that Jesus is God, but the son of God, just as it is written in the Bible.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)

Whoever believes in Jesus receives the right to become a child of God. This clearly shows that God is spirit. And on the other hand, it shows that Jesus is the son of God because He is born of God, just as we should be. Here are a few more Bible verses to prove this fact:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15:18-19)

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one. (John 17:21-22)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (John 17: 3)

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. (John 20:17)

Conclusion: The Trinity is not in the Bible

Is the Trinity biblical? Neither the Old Testament, nor the New Testament, nor Jesus himself teaches us anything about the Trinity. There isn’t a single verse in the Bible that clearly says that Jesus is God. But in order to understand this, you first have to understand the doctrine of Jesus, which teaches us that God lives in his children and therefore anyone can become one with God, just as Jesus did. When you read the Bible, you have to believe what it says without interpreting it. We don’t have the right to interpret the word of God. You can’t come up with your own theories and claim it to be the one and only truth. You also shouldn’t believe any preachers or pastors who are only interested in proclaiming their own opinions. But anyhow, it is impossible to understand the New Testament if you haven’t read the Old Testament. It has always been a sin to worship anything besides God. And this won’t ever change. For God’s word is everlasting. There will always be only one God. And this God is Spirit.

Old Testament: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. (Deuternomy 6:4)

New Testament: And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. (Mark 12:29)

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3)

  1. Hi
Can you explain then to whom God is referring to when for example He says let “US’ go down and see (Gen 11.7), and also when Jesus says “and we will come and make our home with him” (John 14.23)

    1. In english there is only one word for a plural of 2 or of more “us”. In most other languages they are distinct words that show 2 people or many. It is very apparent that he means his angels in German for example.

      1. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬ (It Says the Word was God)

“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.””

“So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. And in revelation Jesus said to John when he appeared to him

        ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

        And Also Jesus says

        And Again
““Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.””
        ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:12-16‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

        1. You are a Trinitarian so you read into scripture what you want, however you need to read just what the scripture say. Jesus was not or is god he was a man.
          1) the Messiah was to be a man Deuteronomy 18:15
          2) Jesus was the mediator between god and men, the man (Jesus) 1 Timothy 2:5
          3) Paul said it very well by that the resurrection came by man (Jesus) 1 Corinthians 15:21
I think it’s time the church told the truth.

          1. “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
            ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
            ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬
God with us this suggests that Jesus was God come to earth in the form of a man
He was both man and God while on earth but after the resurrection he was just God now and his flesh had died
“By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.”
            ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

          2. Also my friend remember when Jesus calmed the storm
“And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!” He *said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.”
            ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:24-26‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬
It said he rebuked it, it did not say that he prayed to God that he calm the storm it said he himself told the storm to be calm. In the Old Testament prophets when performing miracles they had to pray.

          3. “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
            ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

          4. And understand the context the Jews at that time knew he was claiming to be God and he knew he was claiming to be God and he knew he was God

          5. Amen, and besides what hope would we really have in believing that it was God who was crucified and then arose? First of all he is life so he can’t die he’s a Spirit! I could never walk in the footsteps of God so there goes my hope of eternal life! But you put a man on that execution stake, be crucified and come back to life three days later! Now that gives me hope!

          6. @Nochee, on 21. September 2021 at 12:03 part of your defence of Trinity doctrine you said:

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
            ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

You do realize that this was a sign to a nation with a king needing to know he can trust that his God, Yehovah, is with him and not his enemies. The virgin spoken of is a married and pregnant woman and this all took place over 700 years before the time of Yeshua (Jesus) lived. Christianity’s claim that this is a messianic prophesy that proves anything about Yeshua being the messiah is purely a misunderstanding at best and a blatant lie to trick simpletons at worst.

Immanuel means God with us and is not what Miriam (Mary) named her child. She called Him Yehushua {which means YHWH is my salvation), Yeshua (Jesus). Immanuel was the little boy’s name that Isaiah told the king of Judah to look for as evidence from God. This was over 700 years in Yeshua’s past. This does not prophesy Yeshua’s virgin birth. Besides, Yeshua (Jesus) is not God. Constantine declared that at the Nicean council in about 326a.d., the birth of Christianity.

If I addressed everything you wrote in your posts here we’d end up filling this website up. I suggest that you get away from Christian preachers and start in Genesis 1:1 reading from the beginning so you can learn the complete story so you can finally understand what’s going on for real. Ask our creator to help you understand what you’re reading.

Constantine was a heathen who cared nothing about the condition of your soul. He just wanted to unite his crumbling kingdom so he created Christianity unifying several heathen beliefs and even religions into one religion that he could control and the people being forced to obey him not the real God of the creation.

          7. Jesus is 100% God and Man
There is absolutely nothing in the Bible to support this claim. On the contrary, the Bible repeatedly states that God is NOT A MAN. Therefore, Jesus cannot be God.

For I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee. (Hosea 11:9)

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent. (Numbers 23:19)

And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent. (1 Samuel 15:29)

As we have seen in previous discussions, all Bible verses that refer to Jesus as God are actually statements that Jesus is the Son of God and not the one true God. The Bible also refers to Jesus countless times as a man or the Son of Man.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. (John 6:27)

There are further reasons that support this argument and why Jesus cannot be God but must be a man.

      2. If you believe that when God said “let us” he meant he and his angels, then you would have to concede that the angels assisted in the creation of man and we know that isn’t true. In Gen. 1:26 God says, “let us make man in our image and likeness.” you believe he’s talking to angels??? And your explanation of the relationship between Jesus and God is weak. if you compare Jesus’ prayer in John 17 it contradicts your explanation of one being in the other. I am in agreement with most of your other statements though!

    2. “Us” does not include Jesus. God may be speaking to angels, but we know for sure God created alone. This means Jesus wasn’t there.

      1. Yes he was ,GOD begat Jesus in Genesis verse 3 , note no SUN , even the fruit trees and grass grew without the sun BUT with the Light of the world . Does not matter who GOD was speaking to , GOD created man verse 27 ,

    3. Regarding Genesis 11:7, it is quite clear that when it says “let us go down and see” that it is not about it being a triune God speaking, what proves it is that it is Moses who wrote Genesis and what everyone knows is that Moses was not a trinity believer but believed that God was only one person. This is a strong argument against Genesis 11:7 being a verse that speaks for the Trinity.

    4. Hello Sean,

My name is Sister Lisa. I am “a Biblical Christian disciple” of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior who believes in the ‘original” bible teachings as Jesus did. I am NOT a ” Secular Christian” (who believes in the Trinity–3 Gods –1; Virgin Birth; nor do I celebrate Christmas, Easter, Halloween; or any of the other false and pagan teachings which Christians believes and follows, which is of non-Biblical, Roman Catholic, and “Pagan” origins. I am a member of the body of Christ’ TRUE Spiritual Church of God as stated in the Holy Bible.

Now, to answer your question (truthfully) about Genesis 11:7, try understanding the way God intended for us to understand this verse, which is as follows:

First, God alone was in the beginning, right–says Genesis 1:1… “In the beginning God”…. (one being/a–the only God–no one else). What did God do in the beginning…. God CREATED the heavens and the earth…

Now, notice, first there was God (alone) with all power, etc.; who has now become a/The Creator. Now, God as we know has many Titles (God, Father, Creator, etc., Abilities (Power, Authority, Omnipotent; Infinite, etc.), and characters (Just, Loving; Forgiving, etc., which we count as PLURAL not singular, right? For example: When Kings and Queens write letters or make speeches, the refer to themselves if a “Plural” form and not a singular form, which called “Plural of Majesty” and they say…”We instead of I”; this is because they are Great and endowed with many powers, authorities’, titles, characteristics, etc. which cannot be correctly classified as “singular’ only PLURAL… That said, God used the “Plural of Majesty” in (Genesis 11: 7) to say/means…

Let Us (God and The Creator) make man in our (like gods with the ability to create like us (God and The Creator). God was referring to any angels, because Angels don’t create the carry-out God’s orders or commands and they serve Him and His children. In other words in the beginning God was alone, one being, with one title–God, UNTIL he create something (the heavens and the earth), then another title and characteristics of His was manifested and he know became a (The) Creator as well. So now, there’s two beings–in–one in the beginning…God and The Creator. I hope that you understand what I’m (the truth) is saying.

And whenever God speaks in a “singular” manner, then He is only referring to one of His titles and or characters at that time. And, whenever He speaks in a “plural” manner, then He is referring to more than one of His titles and or characters.

Note: God DOES NOT need anyone to help Him do anything, even though He uses Angels and man to carry-out his will and purpose in heaven and on earth. Only God (Yahweh/Hebrew–Jehovah/English) “The Creator” created everything–everywhere.

      For example:

When God says “I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me” (Isaiah 45:5), then He is speaking in a “Singular” manner (I am THE Lord God–not We Are). When God says “let us” make man in our own image, then He is speaking in a “Plural” manner (God + The Creator= 2 titles and characters). God in essence was proclaiming to readers that He (God) Created man as “The Creator” and gave himself credit for doing so, and He wants every reader of Genesis 11: 7 and all believers to know who was evolved in man’s creations (God and The Creator), man was created with limited abilities to create things (art, buildings, ships, cars, weapons, medicine, toys, books, etc.) on earth, they have limited authority and power like God and emotions and abilities to love, forgive; Judge man; to take and save man’s life; etc. So, men are considered little gods and little creators as well, which was created in the IMAGE (likeness) of the only Living God and Creator of all things in heaven and on earth.

When God says…”I am The Lord God” He is saying, I am THE ONLY True LORD, God, Master, Ruler, Leader, Chief, Superior, Monarch, Sovereign, King, Emperor, Governor, Commander, Founder, CEO, President, Captain,; KING of kings, LORD of Lords; etc.

And, “and we will come and make our home with him” (John 14:23); simply means (Spiritually), that the same Holy Spirit, Righteousness, Holinesses, Truth, Eternal Life, Mind-set, Behavior, Character, Emotions, etc. which is in God and Christ Jesus will also be given to us or within us (via God’s Holy Spirit and the living Word of truth–God’s Word as it is written in the Holy Bible) and as it is within them.

Note: Sean, EVERYTHING in the Holy Bible MUST agree with each other from the Old Testament to the new Testament, because, if one verse says one thing and another contradicts it then something is wrong. And, God doesn’t EVER make mistakes, not even in His Word–The Holy Bible. Please Pray and ask God to reveal His Word and Truth to you, He will, if you will accept it, obey it and share it the others. But you MUST make sure it is Biblical TRUTH and NOT yours or man’s version or opinion of truth. Amen.

I hope this answers your questions clearly. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask, and God will tell you the truth or lead you to it as He sees best for you to obtain it. Amen HalleluYah!

The majestic plural, also called the royal plural

The majestic plural, also called the royal plural, is the use of a plural word (such as the pronoun we or us) to refer to a single person. As a type of nosism, the majestic plural emphasizes something or honors someone in a stylistic way. Basically, when a member of royalty, referring to himself, says, “We” instead of “I,” he is using the majestic plural. For example, Queen Victoria, upon hearing a tasteless joke, is said to have replied, “We are not amused.”

The ancient Hebrews used the majestic plural, and some examples are found in the Old Testament. But the construction is not unique to Hebrew. The Latin language also had what the Romans called pluralis maiestatis (“the plural of majesty”), and, as has been noted, English sometimes uses it as well. Other modern languages using the royal plural include Punjabi, Hindustani, Telugu, and Egyptian Arabic (in which the President of Egypt is referred to as “Your Excellencies”).

The effect of the majestic plural is to indicate greatness, power, and prestige. It is normally reserved for use by nobles, kings, popes, and other persons of high rank when speaking in an official capacity or by those of lower rank when speaking of or to their betters.

In the Bible, we find four verses in which God refers to Himself using plural pronouns. The most well-known passage is Genesis 1:26: “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness.’” See also Genesis 3:22; Genesis 11:7; and Isaiah 6:8. The One God is speaking of Himself in plural form: us and our. This is a perfect example of the majestic plural. God’s divine greatness and transcendence are emphasized through the simple use of pronouns.

The majestic plural is also found in one of God’s most common names in the Old Testament, Elohim. The word itself is plural (the singular is Eloah), and it is sometimes translated as “gods” (when referring to a plurality of false gods). When it refers to the One True God, Elohim (plural) is correctly translated as “God” (singular).

Deuteronomy 4:35 says, “The LORD is God”—literally, “Yahweh is Elohim.” And the famous Shema says, “The LORD our God, the LORD is one.” Again, we have the singular Lord coupled with the plural Elohim, and this time in a verse that is crystal clear that there is only one God. His name’s plural form indicates His sovereign supremacy, His matchless might, and His exceeding eminence.

We carefully note that the majestic plural in the Old Testament was not meant to teach the doctrine of the Trinity (which DOES NOT exist in the Holy Bible at all). It is simply a linguistic tool that God employed to accentuate His greatness…The LORD, God, Creator, etc. is GREAT! Amen. HalleluYah!

      P.S.,
My Blog’s website will be updated soon, to add new biblical truth and revelations and to remove any information which were printed/added which were written in error, IF any were.

    5. The Father, the Almighty Sovereign Creator and Life-Force essence of all that exists, is incorporeal. He has always existed, and He uses and instructs His created celestial beings (angels) to do His will throughout His endless Universe. Life throughout His endless Universe has no limits neither does the Almighty, and the created beings that follow his commands. visit:aoycascade.com

  2. he was probably speaking to his son whom he created first before his works of old – the bible says jesus was first born (brought forth) of all creatures Col 1;15 – he was there when God created the earth (proverbs 8 :22-31

  3. One problem I noticed.

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world.

    1 John 4:1-3

  4. John 1:18 – Only Jesus has seen God the Father – WHO IS HIMSELF GOD – and is at the Father’s side
16 From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side has made Him known.

Colossians 2:9 – Beware of people who teach against this : in Christ is the fullness of God in bodily form [NOT because He has the Spirit of God in Him, which the believers also have. Can we believers have “the fullness of the Deity” in bodily form because the Spirit of God dwells in us just as He dwelt in Jesus?]
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form.

2 Corinthians 13:14 – One of many many verses that show that the Holy Spirit is distinct from God the Father and at the same time IS the Spirit of God and Spirit of Jesus
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.

Romans 8:9 – Spirit of God = Spirit of Christ = Holy Spirit. They exist as one God while having unique roles, identities and existence.
9 You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

This is one of the many mysteries of the Bible. We will one day understand this mystery too.

    1. There is no great mystery here. It just remains a mystery to those who believe false doctrines.

5For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5

The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works. John 14:10

God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24

    2. John 1:18 read the correct translation KJV “no man hath seen GOD at any time; the only begotten SON, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him,
1 John 5:20 We know also that the SON OF GOD (Jesus) has come and has given us understanding, so we may know HIM (GOD) who is true. And we are on HIM (GOD) who is true by being in HIS (GOD) son Jesus Christ. He (GOD) is the true GOD and eternal life.
DEAR CHILDREN, KEEP YOURSELVES FROM IDOLS.
Remember what Jesus said THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. John 8:31-32

      1. NASB version is agreed by many scholars as the most accurate translation word for word and it states
“No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.”
        ‭‭John‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

And ESV is also agreed to be a highly accurate word for word
“No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.”
        ‭‭John‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

  5. 1 John 5:20 – Jesus is the true God. Jesus is eternal life

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

    1. He is the true God and eternal life applies to him who is true. Not his son Jesus.

If you would read it like that, then Jesus would be the antichrist as well only 2 phrases later.

Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:22

It’s the same false grammatical order that you use to misread what is written there.

  6. 1 John 5:7-8 – Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit are one.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. (KJV)

  7. Matthew 28: 19-20 – FALSE STATEMENT: “In fact, the Bible always says that we should be baptized in the name of Jesus. And nothing else.”
What did Jesus say in The Great Commission?
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    1. I have proven above that this is the only place where the trinity phrace is mentioned for baptism and that this phrase was added later on. Please read the article properly.

      1. “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
        ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
It says God purchased with his own blood

  8. Isaiah 9: 6 – Did Isaiah prophesy that Jesus will be called Mighty God and Everlasting Father?
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

    1. Ever read the Hebrew Original? The words for the one and only God and a God are two different. Oh and by the way. Moses was named a God as well.

And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. Exodus 7:1

  9. Mark 2:7 – FACT: The Jewish people crucified Jesus for making himself equal to God (blasphemy) by forgiving sins. How can you teach that Jesus is not God unless you have the spirit of the antichrist?

5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” 6 But some of the scribes were sitting there and thinking in their hearts, 7 “Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

    1. So you rather believe the accusers that killed him than Jesus own words?

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

      35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? John 10:33-36

      He is referring to this:

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are achildren of the most High. 7 But ye shall adie like men, and fall like one of the princes. Psalm 82:6

  10. Philippians 2:6 – Jesus exist in the form of God, equal with God

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness.

    1. You heard Me say, ‘I am going away, and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. John 14:28

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 1 Corinthians 11:3

Doesn’t seem like equality to me.

  11. Thank you for this article! Someone brought this to my attention quite some time ago. Right away something in my spirit would not let it go. When I read the bible, even before I was exposed to this truth, I read as Jesus is the Son and he is communicating with his Father throughout the whole New Testament. When I fully realized what Jesus was representing to us I was blown away, that was the truth. When I try to understand the Trinity doctrine I get confused and at times would lose hope b/c I just could not get it. Well now that I trust my relationship with God more than when I first came to this truth no one is going to convince me the Trinity is true. I wish more christians would listen to God’s spirit instead of just rote teaching the church is giving. All the churches have been infiltrated and while they teach a lot of truth they are also teaching much untruth which is leading the flock astray. Remember God says come out of her my people…He is talking about getting out of Babylon which unfortunately includes the church. I pray for you my brothers and sisters your eyes will be opened.
May the peace of Christ be upon you and your family.

  12. You don’t believe that Jesus God in the flesh! You are going to hell!! Case closed!

  13. If Jesus is not God, then explain . . .
Why Thomas calls Jesus God in John 20:28? (Note, Thomas addresses Jesus specifically).
Why does God call Jesus God in Heb. 1:8?
Why does John the apostle state that Jesus was the Word which was God that became flesh (John 1:1, 14)?
Why is the phrase “Call upon the name of the LORD” (Hebrew, YHWH, i.e., Psalm 116:4) used only of God on the OT and translated into Greek in the LXX as “Call upon the name of the LORD (greek, “KURIOS”) applied to Jesus in the NT (1 Cor. 1:2) if Jesus is not God in flesh?
Why does the apostle John say that Jesus was ” . . . calling God His own Father, making Himself equal to God.” (John 5:18)?
What did Jesus say that caused the Pharisees to claim that Jesus was making Himself out to be God (John 8:58)?
How was it possible for Jesus to know all things (John 21:17)?
How can Jesus know all men (John 16:30)?
How can Jesus be everywhere (Matt. 28:20)?
How can Jesus, the Christ, dwell in you (Col. 1:27)?
How can Jesus be the exact representation of the Nature of God (Heb. 1:3)?
How can Jesus be eternal (Micah 5:1-2)?
How can Jesus be the one who gives eternal life (John 10:27-28)?
How can He be our only Lord and Master (Jude 4)?
How can Jesus be called the Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6) if there is only one God in existence (Isaiah 44:6-8; 45:5)?
How can Jesus be called the Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6) and “God” also be called the Mighty God in Isaiah 10:21?
How was Jesus able to raise Himself from the dead (John 2:19-21)?
How can Jesus create all things (Col. 1:16-17), yet it is God who created all things by Himself (Isaiah 44:24)?
How can Jesus search the hearts and minds of the people (Rev. 2:23)?
Why was Jesus worshipped (Matt. 2:2, 11; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6) when He says to worship God only (Matt. 4:10)? (same Greek word for worship is used in each place.)
In the OT God was seen (Exodus 6:2-3; 24:9-11; Num. 12:6-9; Acts 7:2), yet no man can see God (Exodus 33:20; John 1:18). It was not the Father that was seen in the OT (John 6:46). Who, then were they seeing? See John 8:58.
Then why did Jesus claim the divine name, “I AM” for Himself in John 8:58? see Exodus 3:14.
Then why did Jesus say you must honor him even as you honor the Father (John 5:23)?
Then why is it that both the Father and the Son give life (John 5:21)?
Then why did Jesus bear witness of Himself (John 8:18; 14:6)?

    1. Jesus came to reveal God to us and this God he also says is his God, so when we see Jesus we see two people, we see Jesus the Messiah and we also see the God he revealed to us, namely, God the Father. Jesus revealed the Father to us by being filled with the Spirit of His Father and not the third person of a trinity god, the Father consumed Jesus, so Jesus never made anything by himself, but after his baptism he spoke only what the Father wanted him to speak and the miracles that Jesus did, it was the Father who did through him, this is very clear when you read John 12:44-50, and when you read John chapter 14. So it is in this way that Jesus reveals God to the world, he did not come to reveal himself but to reveal the only true God. When you understand this, it is not difficult to understand John 20:28. It is very tragic that when the truth is that Jesus came to reveal God the Father to us that there are so many Christians today who turn it upside down and say that Jesus is instead God. Jesus was clear that the only true God was also his God.

1Ko 8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Keep in mind that Jesus came to reveal only one person to the world namely his God and Father who is only one person, he did not come to reveal a trinity.

    2. Way to back up the truth, brother! A human couldn’t have paid the price for our sins. If that was the case, there would be no need for Christ. These pagans that started this website are satan’s way of trying to kill and destroy. We can only pray that Yahweh will open their eyes to the truth. The Old Testament foretells the coming of Christ the Messiah. Why would the wisemen come to worship him if Yeshua wasn’t God? Common sense does normally come in handy and I didn’t even go to a seminary or take classes in theology while in college.

      1. Jesus must be God, otherwise He couldn’t have paid the price for our sins

The claim that Jesus must be God in order to pay the price for our sins is incorrect in so many ways, that it appears the person making this assertion probably hasn’t read the Bible or doesn’t understand the Gospel in its entirety. The Bible clearly states that the redemption for humanity must come through a HUMAN BEING because the fall into sin was caused by a human being:

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:21-22)

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:18-19)

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17)

This emphasizes the importance of Jesus being fully human to bring reconciliation between humanity and God. It would have been straight nonsense for God to be first angry with all people and then, as a solution, come down to earth as a human to fulfill His own commandments. In fact, the entire message of the Bible revolves around the fact that people turned away from God, and therefore, a man in complete obedience to God without sin had to reconcile us with Him.

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:7-8)

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)

et it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. (Isaiah 53:10)

  16. Matt. 28 Verses 18 to 20
[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

  17. Hi there! Genuinely curious to hear your thoughts on Hebrews 1:10-12 being applied to the Son, Jesus, and it being a direct quote from Psalm 102:25-27, which talks about God. Also, curious to hear your thoughts on early church fathers, like Polycarp, who upheld the deity of Jesus. I noticed in the article you hold heavily to the view that the Trinity (and this divinity of Jesus) only came about after the council of Nicaea, and that it didn’t exist before then, however Polycarp, Ignatius, Justin Martyr, etc all upheld his divinity and writing letters with these notions from 50-160 AD. That’s a long time before Nicaea friend.

    1. It’s important to remember that Jesus, as the Son of God, has been given all power and honor by the Father. Several Bible passages support this:

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18)

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. (John 3:35)

For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. (John 5:22-23)

The last verse also shows that Jesus will ultimately return the honor and power to God in the end.

It hould be understood in the context that the Son of God is called a god and not the one true God, as indicated in Psalm 82:6, Jesus’ own statement, and 1 Corinthians 8:5-6.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (Psalm 82:6)

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (John 10:34)

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (1 Corinthians 8:5-6)

Furthermore, it’s important to consider that not only Jesus but also Moses was referred to as a god.

And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh. (Exodus 7:1)

Why does God call Moses a god here? The answer is quite simple. “God” is not a name but a title given to those who have been granted power and authority by God. Therefore, it’s not surprising that Jesus is also called a god, especially since God has subjected everything under his feet, which further supports his claim to this title.

  18. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit….”—Matthew 28:19

Notice that the word “name” is singular (not plural i.e., “names”). Also, the definite article “the” is placed in front of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thus implying plurality within unity. The Trinity is not Modalism—the view that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all one person; nor is it Tritheism—the view that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three separate Gods. Although the Trinity cannot be totally comprehended, it can be apprehended and seen illustrated in the world of nature. Take, for example, an illustration involving three candles. Even after lighting each candle, they are still separate and distinct. However, when one combines each of the three flames together, they become one flame. In the same way, each member of the Trinity is separate and distinct, yet they are one God. As Walter Martin founder of the Christian Research Institute put it:

“God is not triplex (1+1+1)—He is triune (1X1X1), and he has revealed Himself fully in the Person of our Lord, Jesus Christ (Col. 2:9, John 14:9).” —Christian Research Institute tract, Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Trinity

  19. BEWARE!
    THIS TEACHING IS FALSE…

THE TRINITY CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE CARNAL MIND.

    CHRISTIANS. BEWARE!

    BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

  20. I’m sorry, but I don’t understand your explanation of John 1:1-3 and John 1:14. What exactly are you saying “the Word” is that is mentioned in these verses. In John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us” implies that “the Word” is Jesus. If this is true, then in John 1:1 when it says “and the Word was God.” it is saying Jesus is God. However if you want to say that “the Word” refers to some ethereal aspect of God, than the verse in John 1:1 becomes something like the God was with God or the essence of God was with God, which makes no sense.

What is more troubling to me, is that if you profess to be a Christian, meaning that you believe in salvation through Christ Jesus alone; and if Jesus is not God and was just a man, he cannot be perfect. This, in turn, means that Jesus’ death on the cross cannot save us from our sins and we are all doomed to an eternity in hell.

    1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God – John 1:1
The most famous Bible passage of “Jesus is God” proponents is undoubtedly John 1:1. It is often claimed here that John wanted to state that Jesus is God Himself. However, several things must be considered. The first is that if Jesus were God Himself, the Word and God could not be with each other. In the original Greek text, the word for “with” also means “before” God. This fact alone reveals that there are two distinct identities here: the Word and God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

There is a clear reason why John does not simply say that Jesus is God but phrases it the way he does. When we read a little further, we see directly what glory is attributed to Jesus here – that of being a Son born of God, not being God Himself.

For the Word of God is born of God. Before the Word was spoken, it was indeed God, just as a child is born of a mother and before that, it was simply the mother. However, no one would claim that the child and the mother are one and the same person. The child is an independent person. Similarly, the Word of God, which proceeds from God’s mouth and is born of Him, is a separate entity.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

This is also the reason why Philippians 2:6 states that Jesus was once in the form of God.
