Most Christians believe that the new covenant is fundamentally different from the old covenant and that they no longer have to obey God’s Commandments. But in fact, God’s demands on people have not changed. Sin is still an abomination to God, which results in death. The only thing that has changed with the new covenant is the way in which we receive it.

Jeremiah 31:31-32Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord.
